BORDELEAU — En l'année 1866, mourait à Ottawa Jean-Baptiste Bordeleau, venu à Bytown en 1831 avec sa femme née Marie-Anne LaRue. Il retourna dans sa ville natale, Québec, en 1857 et revint à Ottawa deux ans plus tard. Il n'est pas impossible
qu'il ait été menuisier et ait travaillé aux édifices qui s'élevaient sur la colline. Il mourut à 58 ans, étant né en 1808.
Son fils, Antoine (1833-1872) était déjà marié à Esther Cantin lorsqu'il arriva ici en 1859. On le dit premier imprimeur bilingue à Ottawa. Comme "Le Progrès" n'existait plus, il est probable qu'Antoine travailla pour un des journaux anglais, peut-être le 'The Citizen . Le couple eut cinq enfants: Eugénie 1863-1942, mariée à Edouard Châteauvert 1861-1943; Délia 1865-1885 (Edouard Rainville); Cléophas 1861-1933,
marchand de boissons, angle Cumberland et Water, qui avait épousé Félicité Champagne et eut quatre garçons et quatre filles; Orner 1866-1916 (Évelyne Bordeleau), hôtelier, angle Clarence et Parent (enfants: 3 garçons et 3 filles); et, enfin, Napoléon-Alexandre 1867-1950 dont l'épouse s'appelait Angéline Moore (1872-1960).
