C'est avec une grande tristesse que la famille de Claudette Diguer Pepper, annonce son décès mercredi 29 avril 2020, d'un cancer du foie. Elle est décédée paisiblement à son domicile a Orléans, Ontario, avec sa famille à ses côtés. On se souviendra de Claudette pour son sens de l'humour, son intelligence et son approche «colorée» de la vie d'une mère unique de ses quatre enfants: Christopher, Julie-Anne, Andrew et Angela.
Claudette était aussi la grand-maman aimante de 10 petits-enfants, et ses nombreux nièces, neveux, amis et voisins se souviendront d'elle avec tendresse.
Précédée par ses parents: Albert Diguer et Florida Grenon; ses frères Robert (Dorothy) et Ronald (Rita), et sa soeur Patricia Arial (Jacques)
Née dans la basse-ville d'Ottawa, en Ontario, Claudette a obtenu son diplôme d'études secondaires du Couvent de la rue Rideau.
Elle a travaillé pendant plus de 21 ans dans la fonction publique fédérale, passant d'un poste de débutant à un poste de directrice. Elle a passé la majeure partie de sa carrière aux Affaires autochtones (20 ans), dans les domaines de la formation et le développement et la gestion de l'information, où elle a noué des amitiés qui dureront toute sa vie. Sa quête d'excellence et de leadership lui a valu de nombreux prix et promotions. Nombreux collègues et employés l'ont considérée comme un mentor et une source d'inspiration.
La famille aimerait remercier les professionnels incroyable, attentionnés et solidaires qui lui ont prodigué des soins au cours des quatre dernières années. Au cours de sa dernière année, elle a reçu une aide et un soutien formidable des infirmières et du personnel de Carefor Services & Soins de Sante Communautaires d’Ottawa, ainsi que de la famille, des amis et des voisins. Des dons commémoratifs peuvent être faits à Carefor (carefor.ca) et à la Société canadienne du cancer (cancer.ca).
En raison de la pandémie actuelle, une célébration de la vie de Claudette aura lieu à une date ultérieure et un avis sera publié sur ce site et dans les journaux locaux d’Ottawa.
