    C’est avec regret et grande tristesse que nous annonçons le décès de J. A. Armand LeVasseur le vendredi 31 août 2018.

    Il était le tendre époux de feu Madeleine LeVasseur, née Labonté, depuis 62 ans; fils de feu Préscillia Lemay et de feu Joseph LeVasseur; cher père de Sylvie (Benoît St-Jean), Pierre (Lucie LeBlanc), Gilles (Marie-Claude Martel), Luc; le grand-père bien-aimé de Nathalie (Will Barnes), Simon (Pascale Bégin), Mathieu, Sophie, Valérie et l'arrière-grand-père de Jacob. Lui survivent sa soeur Germaine Pineau; une belle-soeur et deux beaux-frères. Précédé par ses frères et soeurs : Edgar, Maurice, Lionel, François, Guillaume, Gabrielle, Lucille et Gertrude. Originaire de la Basse-ville d'Ottawa, il a étudié à l'école Guigues et à l'Académie de La Salle où il fut Commandant régimentaire des cadets. Il était un gradué du Collège MacDonald de l'Université McGill, en agronomie avec une spécialisation en aviculture. C'était un époux et un père dévoué qui avait le sens du devoir et de la famille. Il nous a quittés, comme il a vécu, avec foi, courage et dignité. La famille recevra parents et ami(e)s à la MAISON FUNÉRAIRE RACINE, ROBERT ET GAUTHIER, 180, chemin Montréal, Ottawa (Ontario) le jeudi 13 septembre 2018 de 18 h 00 à 21 h 00 et le vendredi 14 septembre 2018 de 10 h 00 à 12 h 00. Un service religieux aura lieu le vendredi 14 septembre 2018 à 14 h 00, en la Basilique- Cathédrale Notre-Dame d’Ottawa, 385, promenade Sussex, Ottawa (Ontario), et une réception suivra. L'inhumation se tiendra au cimetière Notre-Dame d’Ottawa, situé au 455, chemin Montréal, à Ottawa, le samedi 15 septembre à 9 h 30.     C'est avec beaucoup de tristesse que nous annonçons le décès de notre maman bien-aimée. Elle est ainsi allée rejoindre son tendre époux Claude Pineau, sa fille Michelle, ses parents: Préscillia Lemay et Joseph LeVasseur, ses frères et soeurs : Armand, Edgar, François, Gabrielle, Gertrude, Guillaume, Lionel, Lucille et Maurice. Elle laisse dans le deuil ses enfants: Benoît (Bonnie Prosser), Charles (Lynn Anderson), François (Céline Thérien), Johanne (John Crysdale), Julie, Marie, son gendre Michel Gimmig, plusieurs petits-enfants et arrière-petits-enfants, belles-soeurs et beaux-frères, neveux et nièces. La famille recevra les condoléances à la Maison funéraire Racine, Robert et Gauthier (180 chemin Montréal, Ottawa) le vendredi 12 octobre 2018 de 14h à 16h et de 19h à 21h. Les funérailles seront célébrées le samedi 13 octobre 2018 à 11h, à la Cathédrale Notre-Dame (385 promenade Sussex, Ottawa).     It is with much sadness that we are announcing the death of our beloved mother. She went to join her cherished husband Claude Pineau, her daughter Michelle, her parents: Prescillia Lemay and Joseph LeVasseur, her brothers and sisters: Armand, Edgar, François, Gabrielle, Gertrude, Guillaume, Lionel, Lucille and Maurice. She leaves to mourn her children: Benoît (Bonnie Prosser), Charles (Lynn Anderson), François (Céline Thérien), Johanne (John Crysdale), Julie, Marie, her son-in-law Michel Gimmig, several grandchildren and great-grandchildren, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, nephews and nieces. The family will receive condolences at Racine, Robert & Gauthier Funeral Home (180 Montreal Road, Ottawa) on Friday, October 12, 2018 from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm. Funeral mass will be celebrated on Saturday, October 13, 2018 at 11 am, at Notre-Dame Cathedral (385 Sussex Drive, Ottawa). The family is very grateful to the Chartwell Heritage care team for their support and dedication to our mom.
