  Obituary	Lucile Marie Julien Lucile Marie Julien Dr. Lucile Julien died in Ottawa on June 6, 2016. She was born in Ottawa, on November 27, 1919, the beloved only child of the late Raymond Alonzo Julien and the late Leonida Pilon Julien. Dr. Julien earned her Bachelor of Arts degree (summa cum laude) from the faculty of Arts at the University of Ottawa in 1941. Since there was no faculty of medicine in the region at the time, Dr. Julien studied medicine at the University of Montreal, where she earned her degree ( Magna cum laude) in 1947. She continued her medical education until 1951. Afterwards, she became the first female francophone physician to open her own office in Ottawa. Her office was located in the Medico- Dental Building at 150 Metcalfe, Ottawa Throughout her career, Dr. Julien was an active staff member in medicine at the Ottawa General Hospital. She retired after 25 years of private practice. She was then appointed to the Honorary Staff of the Ottawa Hospital, General Campus, a title which she held until her death. Dr. Julien left many cousins on both sides of the family which she certainly appreciated enormously for their presence and their support. Many thanks to those who assited her before her death. A Memorial Mass will be held at the Notre-Dame Cathedral Basilica, 385 Sussex Drive on Wednesday June 15, 2016 at 10:30 a.m.
